I have always resonated with silk. It’s variety and at times, it’s implausible sheerness. Very sheer silk straddles two worlds: The sought after and the ephemeral.
Worms. This air-bender fabric is born of the Earth elementals.Silkworms secrete liquid from a gland in their head, this liquid then hardens upon contact with the air and forms the dainty yet enduring fabric that we covet.
From its mythology to it’s texture, I am enamoured. So when I moved into printing my work, silks felt like the obvious choice. My work has always drawn upon the borders of the erotic, and what can I say, silk is a sensual fabric.
My hope is that you interact with your silks. That you breathe life into them by playing with them and are open to seeing how they respond. I imagine these sacred tapestries not upon a pedestal but in your hands, in the garden, anywhere you chose to put them becoming a doorway through which you see endless possibilities.
All releases of silks are limited runs of 11 silky prints of one beloved image. Rare and strange, just like the fabric that inspired their creation.
About the silks

The window hanging silks are 100% Habotai 5mm silk and are made in Los Angeles, California through POV Fine Art Printing.

After the preorder window closes it will take the company I work with 2 weeks to bring the silks to life.
After I receive them I need 2 more weeks to send them out to each of you. So give it a month and this very much alive print will be delighting your windows or your walks or wherever you decide to play with it.

Each batch of silks will come in two size options with the same image printed on both sizes. These will each be limited runs, each image only ever being printed once.

When I imagine myself wrapped in one, I see it as a multi-dimensional piece that can adorn my body in endless forms. A source of comfort, protection and in some cases, invisibility.
